On 15 May 1998 the C-band should not be used anymore to avoid interferences with Intelsat 806. In exchange Intelsat will use Intelsat 515 (to be renamed Columbia 515) at 37.5°W.

STS-29, also flown by Discovery, successfully deployed TDRS-4 which operated until late 2011 and was decommissioned in March 2012.
